| From A Fan: To me, Almost Heroes is the definition of a truly great rock experience. Their finely-crafted musicianship is almost limitless and ever-evolving, allow creativity to expand beyond the hollow shell of the confining mind and out into the depths of the colorful world surrounding... Allow me to share with you, my first experience: When I first experienced Almost Heroes, I had just rolled out of a school talent show that my band had performed at. A certain member of my band had been talking about Almost Heroes constantly ever since he joined and this certain evening, he had invited them to the show to see the fruits of our work. When he introduced me to them, I was understandably skeptical, as I had previously seen my fair share of local bands who were undeservingly over-hyped. But for some reason, this felt different. Their characters were not at all like I was expecting. There were no exaggerated egos blinding their talents, nor any useless selfishness hiding behind a confident exterior. They were nothing but modest, cherishing our joy of our first show. They even invited me over to view their practice, which is usually a no-no for local acts, as they attempt to prevent idea-theft for other competing musicians. That was when it all changed for me. I had never witnessed such creative potential expressed in such a way. The drums were heavy but groovy. The bass was so thunderous, yet so fluid. The guitar both riffed through the room with aggressive expression yet with a soft whisper, allowing itself to lay back in the mix, never engulfing the atmosphere. The sounds being crafted before me changed my perspective on music. Rock was just a Metallicish vent for me at the time. I never focused on the dynamics such an avenue allowed for. But this band did; they didn’t strangle the music by forcing a repetitive riff. They gave everything room to breathe, but still rock. Almost Heroes is a personification of what I truly feel is the future of Rock music. Their ideals are the same as those of Modern Rock music’s forefathers: To simply create incredible music for the world to share. Although they are not the first to re-incorporate these ideals into themselves, they do it better, harder, heavier, and more importantly, more honest than any rock band of recent years. They know who they are and where they have come from. They know where they are going. I know where they are going and soon you will too. Don’t close your MIND until the Music has found your Ears! | |

| Absolutely! I knew from the first time I heard them, that this band isn't just *another* band, ya' know? There is something definitively glaring about Almost Heroes, that you cannot find anywhere else, in any other type of music. I think that any attempt to define or force out what *that* is, would be to discern, or take away, from the entity that Almost Heroes, distinctly, is. Its heavy, but its serene. Funky, but bluesy as well. Intricate, but simple at the same time. You simply CAN'T define them, and I love that. Its like defining Pink Floyd, Tool, or System of a Down. Yeah they are all Rock. They all are different. They all build off of a type of dissonance. But even though the methods, instruments, notes, tunnings, and everything that is involved, has been done before, they're music is still unique in every sense. In short, I CAN'T WAIT TILL THIS CD COMES OUT!!!!!!!(IANguitarist4) | |
